Segal Fellows are selected each year through AmeriCorps Alums, Brandeis University, CityYear, the Center for Youth and Communities, and the Corporation for National and Community Service to become part of the Segal Network. All fellows are expected to participate in the Network throughout their careers. They are supported by the over 400 people who, as program Founders and supporters, participate as network members. Annual retreats and other gatherings are designed to develop leadership skills, foster a sense of community, and build relationships between fellows. The goal is to build a community committed to helping each other succeed as citizen leaders, and make the experience of being a Segal Fellow a recognized and valued credential – signifying important leadership qualities, significant developmental experiences, and the support of a network of talented people.
