2016 Brandeis Undergraduate Segal Fellow

Jade Eckels currently serves as the Manager of Education Research & Strategy for City Year. She graduated in May 2019 with a master's degree in Urban Education Policy from Brown University. She graduated magna cum laude from Brandeis University in May of 2018, where she double majored in African and African American Studies and English with minors in History and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Jade is passionate about education and health research. Through her work with public service organizations, Jade aims to find data-driven solutions to social problems in order to empower marginalized and minoritized communities and ultimately improve the health and education outcomes of our most vulnerable populations. Through the Segal Fellowship in the summer of 2016, Jade collaborated with the America Forward team (the policy arm of New Profit, Inc.) in their DC office to work on higher education access for non-traditional students by helping implement two town halls across the country to effectively use college students’ voices to inform policy.
